Following a full consultation with one of our doctors or nurse a treatment plan will be devised. The need for any dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections or skin treatments will also be discussed.
Following the consultation and consent, the procedure will start by the application of topical anaesthetic. Micro-droplets of the skin booster are then injected into the skin with a needle or a mesotherapy device.
The injection of 3ml of skin booster is often required for the full face.

The results of skin boosters will be seen immediately, however will continue to improve after 3 months as new collagen regenerates. The traditional course of treatment with other brands of skin booster is generally three initial treatments about 4 weeks apart. Like with any cosmetic injectable procedure there are some minor and transient side effects with skin booster treatment. There will be some redness and swelling to the injection sites which will settle within a few days. Any discomfort can be managed with paracetamol and a cool compress.
Bruising is a possibility as with any injectable treatment. Some people may notice slight asymmetry following treatment – ie half the face treated better than the other which is due to swelling and will settle down.
Skin boosters are very low risk. Aside from the initial down time with possible swelling, bruising and redness there are possible rarer complications as with other dermal fillers. Rare side effects include infection, tissue necrosis and scarring.
Skin boosters cannot be given to people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have taken a course of prescription acne medications in the last 3 months, have a history of autoimmune diseases or multiple allergies.
Our doctors will discuss all risks and contraindications prior to performing any procedure.
